Well, here it is, finally, the apology that all the Obama supporters wanted: a full apology.....Can we move on now?

Clinton Apologizes to Black Voters

(03-13) 01:31 PDT WASHINGTON, (AP) --

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton did something Wednesday night that she almost never does. She apologized. And once she started, she didn't seem able to stop.

The New York senator, who is in a tight race with Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination, struck several sorry notes at an evening forum sponsored by the National Newspaper Publishers Association, a group of more than 200 black community newspapers across the country.

Her biggest apology came in response to a question about comments by her husband, Bill Clinton, after the South Carolina primary, which Obama won handily. Bill Clinton said Jesse Jackson also won South Carolina when he ran for president in 1984 and 1988, a comment many viewed as belittling Obama's success.

Tim Russert, you horrible divisive sickening scumbag

Tue Feb 26, 2008 at 09:12:34 PM PDT

Someday soon, every Democrat in the country will have to do with Tim Russert what they attempted to do with Fox News: absolutely refuse to participate in any debate that he moderates.

The country is subjected to Russert's Sunday morning bullshit on a weekly basis and that is one thing. However, tonight was something different. For this godforsaken fake populist skunk to try to ram Louis Farrakhan down the throat of Barak Obama was simply beyond the pale. To try to corner Obama with this ridiculous bullshit and play to the racist trolls on-line who traffic in black-Jewish tensions is nearly a hate crime.

I am Jewish, skeptical of Barak Obama's candidacy (as anyone here knows by  reading my comments), but no supporter of Hillary Clinton either. So that's my background....

GOP ruins Lantos service. Remember the Wellstone memorial?

Thu Feb 14, 2008 at 01:25:11 PM PDT

Ah yes, I remember it well...don't you? All the fake vile outrage about how Democrats weren't appropriately honoring Paul Wellstone by having a raucous celebratory service in his memory...Remember the days of outrage on talk radio on how the Democrat's conduct during the Wellstone furor was the worst thing ever done in American history. Some, in fact, felt it led to widespread Democratic losses in Congress in the 2002 election...

Here's a brief walk down memory lane to see how rethuglicans took advantage of it:

http://archives.cnn.com/...

Good, now that I have refreshed your memory, let us return the favor FOR REAL this time and let Americans know how Republicans acted when it was time to honor another decent American servant, Tom Lantos, who survived the Holocaust.

How did Rethuglicans honor Lantos? Yes, by holding a vote during a memorial service.

The Coming Republican Crack Up

Tue Jan 29, 2008 at 08:39:42 PM PDT

Look, I hate to interrupt all of the Democratic infighting, anti-Clinton diaries, Obama worship, Edwards love and all of the rest of the senseless diaries on the rec list...but it is time to step back and take in the coming massive crack up on right due to the rising candidacy of John McCain...

DC Republicans, the true core of the party today, HATE, HATE, HATE John McCain. He is unpredictable. He cannot be controlled. He doesn't take orders. He is considered a traitor to the cause of DC Republicans. He is simply hated.

On the End of the Clinton Political Era

Sat Jan 05, 2008 at 02:36:27 PM PDT

I am sure I am not alone when I say I have mixed feelings about the coming end of the Clinton Political Era, at least from an electoral politics standpoint...

I am 37 and, like many here, really came of age during the Reagan-Bush monstrosity. In 1992, of course, I was mesmerized by Bill Clinton and, when he won in 1992, it was like a dawn of new America. And for the next eight years, as I grew into an adult, I finally felt like I was part of America, that Bill Clinton generally was looking out for me...Yes, he had problems, which we all know about...but, in the end, I generally knew Bill was on my side of things, give or take a stance on one issue or another...

And unlike some of the purists in the blogosphere, I wasn't let down by Clinton at all. The Clinton years worked great for me, my family and my friends (black, white, yellow and brown) and I would be a hypocrite if I didn't acknowledge it...I am center-left and so was he. I accepted that he was a moderate and never pretended anything otherwise...

Concord Monitor Editorial: Romney "Must Be Stopped"!

Sun Dec 23, 2007 at 02:30:33 PM PDT

In perhaps the first of its kind, the Concord Monitor (N.H.) has done what every media outlet should have done numerous times over the past several months: call out Mitt Romney for the absolute two-bit lying degenerate phony he is instead of treating him as some adonis-like President-in-waiting...

Why is it so hard for newspapers and media outlets to do such a thing?

In any case, this anti-endorsement is a thing of beauty and should be read and shared widely....and yes, that sound you just heard was Jonah Goldberg and the rest of the doughy pantload columnists at the National Review (they of the Romney endorsement)throwing up their egg nog at holiday parties inside the Beltway.

McClatchy: Surge has utterly failed

Tue Dec 18, 2007 at 09:59:03 PM PDT

And so, once again, it falls to McClatchy (nee Knight-Ridder) to report the truth from Iraq....Yes, the number of troops and cvililians killed in Iraq is down and that is a good thing. Yet, as anybody with half of brain can see, this drop will likely only be temporary. And why is that?

Well, let this article tell you:

Breaking News Shocker: Iran halted weapons devlopment in 2003!

Mon Dec 03, 2007 at 09:55:05 AM PDT

Well you remember all of that stuff about Iran, nuclear arms, mushroom clouds, the destruction of Israel, and the most dangerous threat to the world since, um, well since Iraq.....well, guess, what?

Never Mind.

Ha ha! Oral Roberts President Resigns!!!

Fri Nov 23, 2007 at 05:26:43 PM PDT

So, on one of the slowest and quietest news days of the year, the amoral head of Oral Roberts University has resigned.

Trying to bury to the news much, Mr. Roberts?

I do wonder, though, how this will impact his wife's relationships with the undergraduate males she was text messaging with at 3AM last semester.

Ah well, another phony "family values" hypocrite goes down.

TPM: Rudy caught lying and it's all on video and audio!!!

Fri Nov 02, 2007 at 03:25:10 PM PDT

You know, if this was Al Gore caught on tape lying like this, Rudy would forever be known as a lying, mentally unstable, flip flopping train wreck who should be checked into Bellvue...I wonder, though: how many media outlets will pick up this surprising CNN piece which clearly shows that Rudy Giulani is a two-bit lying skunk.

Enjoy and share. Because exposing right-wing lies is caring.

Tim Russert: A Cancer on American Democracy

Thu Nov 01, 2007 at 12:43:34 PM PDT

First, I am a John Edwards man and will be until the primary here in California. I need to state that at the outset since I am write this diary in absolute disgusted rage at Tim Russert and the deleterious impact he has on American democracy, most recently the Democratic debate a few nights ago.

What Russert did to Hillary Clinton during debate really has no place in American democracy. By hounding Clinton so ruthlessly, some of it via blatant cheap shot, Russert took his Beltway attack dog behavior to a brand new level, one where he has directly inserted himself into the Democratic race. It was sickening.

But worse, it wasn't the first time he had done so to Hillary Clinton...Take a look at this scary flashback, from her 2000 Senate race:

9/11 didn't change a thing: GOP creates new Clinton sex story

Tue Oct 16, 2007 at 11:03:18 AM PDT

It seems I have seen this movie before. Several times, in fact. Let's see the plot:

- 15 year-old charges - Jeff Gerth - Bill Clinton's sexlife - A Clinton leading in the polls

But this time it is jazzed up with some thin connection on the current surveillance controversy. Be prepared to hear a lot about this. At least this time, we are ready for them....

Judith Miller Smears CIA in review of new book on Iraq WMDs

Mon Oct 15, 2007 at 10:07:07 AM PDT

Tucked away in Saturday's edition of the Wall Street Journal is a simply stunning through the looking glass book review by Judith Miller. Not surprisingly, the wingnut editors who control certain pages of the WSJ (and will likely grow their power under Murdoch ownership) thought that Miller would be just the right person to review a new book on Curveball, the Iraqi fabricator whose lies the Bush-Cheney Administration broadcast as part of their Iraq War marketing strategy.

Not surprisingly, Miller uses the book review to launch yet another smear campaign against the CIA, saying it was responsible for the bad intelligence. She more or less dismisses any criticism of Bush and Cheney, and seems to think the half ass Congressional investigations on pre-war intelligence back this view. As I said, simply stunning stuff.
